SERVING FAYETTE COUNTY

IN THE HEART OF CENTRAL TEXAS

Fayette County EMS operates 4 around the clock “Mobile Intensive Care Unit” capable ambulances staffed with our first-rate team of Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. Our administrative office is located in La Grange with satellite stations in Fayetteville, Flatonia and Schulenburg.
We respond to a diverse variety of Emergencies that occur within the boundaries of our 950+ square miles of response territory. Our annual call volume hovers around 3,500 calls per year. We proudly serve the residents of our county and the visitors to its many events throughout the year as well as those who may just happen to be passing through.
We operate under the leadership of Chief Josh Vandever, our EMS Director. Josh is a licensed paramedic and started his career with the county in 2010. Dr. Mark Ackrell, is a Medical Doctor and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He serves as our departmental Medical Director. Dr. Ackrell also serves as an Emergency Department Physician at St. David’s Medical Center and as an Associate Medical Director with Austin – Travis County EMS.
Our team reports to the Fayette County Judge, Joe Weber, along with the rest of the commissioner’s court.
It is important for us to also note that our success is largely supported by our area fire departments and Fayette County EMS’s First Responder Organization. These organizations are composed entirely of volunteer staffing. For questions about how to volunteer, please contact your local fire department or call us at 979-968-8991
